Bio

Yaso is the founder of Beckford Sports, a bespoke Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic. Yaso believes in the delivery of a holistic model of Sport and Exercise Medicine underpinned by the latest scientific evidence. Her broad range of experience in specialist such as surgery, emergency medicine allow her to bring a new and varied perspective to Sports Medicine. A scientist at heart, Yaso’s role as Research Fellow at Lincoln University allows her to collaborate on multiple research projects and this has led to the publication of multiple academic papers

as well editorial contributions to textbooks. She is also a reviewer with the British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) and future chapter contributor to Clinical Sports Medicine Yaso is the Medical Director for the Lincoln University Sports Scholars Program where she manages pre participation evaluation, athlete education and collaborative management of injuries. She was one of the doctors at the Emergency Department on the day of the Christchurch Mosque Shooting and this led her to develop a working relationship with the elite police force. This evolved into relationship providing medical care for elite tactical athletes in the police and military. A proud mother of two sports mad daughters she is passionate about looking after children and adolescents and ensure a safe and balanced environment for children's sport. Yaso thrives on challenges, teaching and developing and improving systems to ensure the most efficient health care delivery.
